/orgs/{org}Update an organization
Updates an organization's profile and member privileges. Use the profile fields and repository-creation settings to change organization details and member permissions; members_allowed_repository_creation_type is closing down in favor of more granular settings. The authenticated user must be an organization owner, and OAuth app tokens and personal access tokens (classic) must have the admin:org or repo scope.

**Note:** This parameter is closing down and will be removed in the future. Its return value ignores internal repositories. Using this parameter overrides values set in `members_can_create_repositories`. See the parameter deprecation notice in the operation description for details.

A 409 indicates a conflict, and a 422 is returned when validation fails. default_repository_permission must be one of read, write, admin, or none; description is limited to 160 characters, and members_allowed_repository_creation_type accepts all, private, or none. The org path parameter must identify the organization; the authenticated user must be an organization owner, and OAuth app tokens and personal access tokens (classic) must have the admin:org or repo scope.
